our club

We play for the love of the game — and build a pathway that lasts a lifetime.

Lonestar is not a seasonal program. It's a true club — rooted in the European tradition of lifelong sport — where our older players                coach the next generation and the community never closes.

What We Stand For

Five pillars. One mission.

01

Grow the game.

Our primary objective is participation growth across Texas. Everything we do should expand access, awareness, and opportunity.

02

Joy before pressure.

We prioritize long-term love of the sport over short-term results. No burnout culture. No fear-based coaching.

03

Develop the whole athlete.

We build confidence, resilience, leadership, and character — not just technical skill.

04

Elite pathway with integrity.

We provide one of the strongest collegiate pathways in the region — without sacrificing player wellbeing or long-term participation.

05

Lifelong club community.

We are not a seasonal program. We are a true club — from childhood through adulthood — rooted in mentorship, continuity, and belonging.

what makes us different

A European-style club in the heart of Texas.

Most youth sports organizations are businesses — you pay, your child plays for a season, and you move on. Lonestar is built differently.

We modeled our club on the European tradition where sport is lifelong. Our adult members play, coach, mentor, and give back. Our youngest players see what commitment looks like from people who love the game as much as they do.

The pathway never closes.
Our Seasons

Three seasons. Year-round hockey.

fall

September – November

Outdoor season. The primary competitive season for schools — tournaments, league play, we support all with our own events and additional technical instruction.

winter

December – February

Indoor season. We move to gyms for technical development, fast-paced games, and skill-focused training. Indoor develops unique skills that will help in all conditions.

SPRING

March - May

Back outdoors. Development season —           preparing for fall competition, building fitness, and welcoming new players. A great time to start.

We also run summer camps in June and July — a great way to try the sport for the first time or keep skills sharp between seasons.

How We Coach

Confidence earned through preparation, not pressure.

01

Coach the details.

We coach grip position, not 'try harder.' Body orientation not 'be more aggressive.' The details are where real improvement happens — and where too much coaching falls short.

02

Reps with purpose.

No filler. No running laps to kill time. Every minute on the field is planned to maximise 'stick & ball' time, develop a specific skill, game decision, or playing habit.

03

Tired and smiling.

A good session is hard. A great session is hard and fun. We aim for our players to leave tired and smiling.

04

High standards - safe environment.

High standards, zero intimidation. We push players because we believe in what they can become — not to prove a point. The goal is a player who wants to come back tomorrow, to keep getting better.
