Twice-weekly program for our most enthusiastic young players — maximum stick time, maximum skill development, maximum fun.
U6-U10 Academy is for our youngest players who've fallen in love with the game and want to play more. The Academy combines the full Lonestar Littlehorn League experience with an additional weekly skills session — twice the stick time, twice the development, twice the fun.
Sunday: the full Littlehorn League session at St. Stephen's — 45 minutes of skill work followed by a real game with your daughter's permanent team. She wears her team jersey, plays with her teammates, and gets the full Littlehorn experience.
Monday: an additional focused skills session at The Churf — designed to build on what was learned in the league. Smaller groups, more individual attention, more time on the ball.
Players aged 4–9 who have already started playing field hockey and want more. Most Academy players come through the Littlehorn League first, decide they love the sport, and step up for the extra session. New players who already love sports and are ready to commit twice a week are also welcome.
Significantly accelerated skill development. The friendships that form from spending more time with teammates. A deeper relationship with the sport. And the technical foundation that prepares players to thrive when they move into U12-U14 Club or Travel as they age up.

Comfortable sports kit, tennis or turf shoes (no cleats), shin guards, mouthguard, and a water bottle. Team jersey is provided, and we lend sticks to anyone who needs one.
Registration for Fall 2026 is open. Spots are capped, and friend requests are honored in registration order.
Everyone was incredibly patient and kind - the girls all accepted MK into the fold instantly and she never looked back. MK was truly a beginner, field hockey was the first team sport she had played and the learning curve was steep – when her school coach saw her again that fall of 8th grade he was shocked at how much she had improved (a testament to the Lonestar coaches and playing model for sure!).
